Policies

These policies are to be applied to all lesson agreements made between Just Music School for the Musical Arts and its students/parents or guardians of the students.

1. When We Operate

1a. At JM we are open Saturdays and Sundays with the exception of certain weekdays that can be agreed upon. We will be closed for New Years Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day, and December 24 - 26.

1b. The student is responsible for knowing when their first and last lessons occur at JM.

2. Communication

2a. Lesson reminders will be communicated to the students and/or the parent/guardian of the student by email once the day of the week for the lesson is agreed upon.

2b. The student is responsible for bringing forward any changes in contact information to JM. JM is not responsible for any form of miscommunication (late payments, missed lessons, etc.) if it is due to incorrect contact information.

3. Lessons and Absences

3a. Lessons will be held once a week for 30 minutes on your scheduled day and time. If a student cancels their lesson less than 24 hours in advance, a make-up lesson will NOT be provided. If a student notifies us that they will miss their lesson 24 hours before their lesson, they will have the option of attending a group make-up lesson on a given Sunday. In the event that a staff member needs to cancel a lesson, the student will receive a lesson from a substitute or will be given the opportunity to schedule a make-up at the student’s convenience.

3b. If the student wishes to switch to another instrument, we request that you notify us two weeks in advance.

4. Lesson Agreement

4a. JM operates on a month-to-month basis and does not have a long-term contract.

4b. Each student is granted a free trial lesson but will be charged starting on their second lesson of their monthly term with JM (if the student wishes to proceed).

4c. Written notice by email is required if the student wishes to cancel lessons altogether. In the event that you wish to stop lessons in the middle of a month and there is still a balance on your account, there will be no refund. In this scenario, there are two options. The student can either not be present for the remainder of their paid month or finish the remainder of their lessons.

4d. There will be a three-day grace period for monthly payments. Any payment JM receives on that fourth day or later, the customer will be charged a $30 late fee.

4e. In the event that a staff member has to end a lesson early due to harassment or damage to JM property, there will be no refund for that lesson.
